Involving young people
Our young people are vital to the life of Jerusalem Presbyterian Church, with many ways for them to get involved.
- Sunday School. As part of the church’s faith development program, Sunday School for Kindergarten through sixth grade helps children grow in their awareness of God and of God’s purpose for their lives. Our Sunday School curriculum, “Growing in Grace and Gratitude” from Presbyterian Church USA, guides weekly lessons. Children generally participate along with their parents in the opening of worship services, then move to classrooms for Sunday School.
- Youth work trips. Each summer, young people have the chance to experience different areas of the country while serving communities in need. Past work trip groups have traveled to New York and Washington, D.C.
- Confirmation. Middle school-aged youth receive instruction and participate in activities to prepare them for active church membership and lifelong faith development.
